At DMCL, we pride ourselves on our expert advice - when somebody calls us asking for help on finding the right solution for their workflow needs, we have enough experience to be able to guide them in the right direction, so that every one of our customers leaves with the best piece of kit we can offer up. However, in some instances, there are a couple of options that would do the trick.
Philips have a wide range of transcription solutions available - but sometimes all you need is a straightforward and professional transcription kit, something that’ll sit neatly under your desk and be ready when you need it. In those situations, we suggest the Philips Transcription Kits, specifically designed to make transcription easy and intuitive. But there are a couple of kits available - so how do you know which one is right for you?
Philips LFH7177 Transcription Kit with SpeechExec Transcribe
This package is designed to give you exactly what you need - the basics. You’ll receive an ergonomic foot pedal offering convenient playback control, and a pair of lightweight stereo headphones designed to be comfortable to wear for long periods of time. You’ll also receive a two-year licence for SpeechExec Transcription Software (v11), fully compatible with Windows 10, which plays back DSS, WAV, WMA and MP3 audio files. This transcription software allows you to manage your jobs with ease and efficiency, displaying all of the information you need to make your workflow tick, including priority and transcription status.
Philips LFH7277 Transcription Kit with SpeechExec Pro Transcribe
Maybe you want a little more power in your transcription kit. If that’s the case, we recommend upgrading to SpeechExec Pro Transcribe, which offers expanded functionality. You’ll benefit from greater control over your workflow, editing previously recorded files, adding in last-minute dictations and dictating even if you’ve misplaced your pocket memo by creating a dictation right in the software. You’ll also have the ability to delete sections of your dictation, so if you don’t need something, you can do it within the software rather than editing it on your pocket memo and re-importing it into SpeechExec. You can attach documents to dictation files, keeping your transcribed text and the file you transcribed from together, in one location. You’ll have access to the Digital Pocket Memo Configuration Wizard, allowing you to adjust SpeechExec to your workflow. With notifications, you can alert transcriptionists to new dictation files landing in the To Do folder, with reminders of untranscribed dictation files waiting to be actioned.
You might not need all of these features - if that’s the case, SpeechExec Transcribe should meet your needs perfectly. But if you want a little more horsepower, SpeechExec Pro will be able to keep up with you.
